The term "Caribbean-descended" refers to individuals who trace their ancestry to the Caribbean region, encompassing over 20 sovereign states and territories in the Caribbean Sea and the wider Caribbean Circle. This diverse group includes people of African, Indigenous, European, Asian, and mixed heritage, reflecting the complex historical and cultural exchanges that have shaped the region.

The Caribbean has a rich and layered history, marked by colonization, the transatlantic slave trade, and subsequent waves of migration.
