Bitmoji is a personal emoji and avatar service originally created by the Canadian company Bitstrips. Snap Inc. acquired Bitmoji in 2016 for about $64 million. The service centers on a customizable cartoon avatar that users tailor to resemble themselves, then use to generate a large library of stickers that express various moods, actions, and situations.

Users design their Bitmoji by adjusting facial features, hair, clothing, and accessories.
