Bishnois

The Bishnois are a religious community originating in the Rajasthan state of India. Founded by Guru Jambheshwar in the 15th century, their faith is characterized by a set of 29 principles, from which their name derives. These principles emphasize environmentalism, compassion towards all living beings, and a disciplined lifestyle. Key tenets include abstaining from cutting trees, hunting animals, and consuming meat.
