Jambheshwar
Jambheshwar, also known as Jambhoji, was a 15th-century saint and the founder of the Bishnoi sect. He was born in Pipasar village in the Marwar region of Rajasthan, India. Jambhoji's teachings emphasized a deep reverence for nature, particularly trees and animals, and advocated for a simple, ascetic lifestyle. He is credited with developing a set of 29 principles, known as the Bishnoi tenets, which form the foundation of the Bishnoi faith. These principles include prohibitions against killing animals, felling green trees, and the use of blue-dyed cloth, along with directives for cleanliness, charity, and devotion.
