BerlínBrandenburg, officially the Berlin-Brandenburg Metropolitan Region, is a northeast German polycentric metropolitan area that comprises the city-state of Berlin and the surrounding state of Brandenburg. It is one of Germany's largest metropolitan regions by population, with about 6 million residents.

Geography and composition: The region spans an urban core in Berlin and parts of Brandenburg, including major centers such as Potsdam, Cottbus, Frankfurt (Oder), and Oranienburg, along with extensive rural areas around the Spree and Havel rivers.
