Belegungen

Belegungen is a German term used to describe the occupancy, assignment, or booking of a resource by people or processes. It denotes the current status of something being occupied or the act of allocating a resource to a user, group, or activity. The word is commonly used across sectors and can refer to both physical spaces and registered enrollments.

In healthcare, Belegung refers to the occupancy of beds and other hospital capacities, often reported as bed occupancy or bed utilization. In hospitality, it describes the occupancy of rooms or accommodations, with related metrics such as Belegungsquote or Belegungsgrad to indicate how fully a property is booked. In education and event management, Belegung can denote course enrollment or the usage of rooms and classrooms, as in Kursbelegung or Raumbelegung. In facilities management and IT, Belegung is used for the occupancy of rooms, workstations, or storage, as well as memory or storage usage in technical systems (Speicherbelegung).
