Belapur

Belapur is a neighbourhood in Navi Mumbai, in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It forms part of the planned city developed by the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) and is one of Navi Mumbai’s major administrative and commercial nodes. The area contains CBD Belapur, a central business district that houses the headquarters of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC), various government offices, banks, corporate offices, hotels, and retail outlets. It also functions as a transportation hub for the eastern suburbs.

Belapur Fort, a historic site, stands on a hill overlooking the Thane Creek near Belapur. The fort dates back several centuries and is a reminder of the region’s maritime and military history; although in ruins, it remains a point of interest for visitors.

Geography and transport: Belapur is located along Palm Beach Road and the Sion-Panvel Highway (NH 66). It is served by the Belapur railway station on the Mumbai Suburban Railway’s Harbour Line, connecting to Mumbai and Panvel. Municipal buses and taxis provide local connectivity, with nearby nodes including Nerul, Seawoods, and Kharghar. The area has seen rapid residential and commercial growth, including shopping centers, educational institutions, and healthcare facilities.
