Beckfordi

Beckfordi is a genus of fossilized insects in the order Hemiptera, which includes true bugs. They are known from various fossil deposits around the world. The name Beckfordi comes from the species name Binodocerus beckfordi, which is still considered part of this genus.

Beckfordi fossils are typically found in amber, river sediments, and other geological formations that are millions of years old. The species are often exceptionally preserved, with their delicate structures like veins and eyes remaining intact. From these fossils, paleontologists can infer information about the evolution, behavior, and ecology of these ancient insects.

These ancient insects were likely members of the aerospace-hemat phosphorous caterano, similar to present-day Planthoppers (Fulgoridea). Their body was mostly similar with beetles optic bulges of fossil evidence. Rear weaponry and sensory organs of sorts were part of their evolutionary tree.

In the past, various fossil taxa were placed within the Beckfordi genus or closely related ones. There are ongoing debates regarding the classification of these fossil materials. Since then some scientists have attempted to revise these classifications based on morphological and genetic information.
