Barathean

Baratheon is a noble house from the fictional world of A Song of Ice and Fire, a series of fantasy novels by George R. R. Martin, and its television adaptation, Game of Thrones. The house is one of the Great Houses of Westeros and hails from the Stormlands, a region known for its harsh weather and warlike people. Their seat is Storm's End, a formidable castle built to withstand the fiercest storms.

The Baratheons are characterized by their strength, pride, and a certain stubbornness. Their sigil is a crowned black stag on a golden field, and their words are "Ours is the Fury." This motto reflects their passionate and often tempestuous nature. Historically, House Baratheon rose to prominence when Orys Baratheon, a bastard half-brother of Aegon the Conqueror, defeated and killed the last Storm King, Argilac the Arrogant, and established the Baratheon dynasty in the Stormlands.

In the events leading up to and during the War of the Five Kings, House Baratheon was divided. The main branch was ruled by King Robert Baratheon, who usurped the Iron Throne from the Targaryens. Following Robert's death, his younger brothers, Stannis and Renly, both claimed the throne, leading to conflict and fracturing the house's power. This internal strife ultimately weakened House Baratheon's position in the ongoing struggle for control of Westeros.
