Balatacovered
Balatacovered is a term used to describe a surface treatment in which a film derived from balata resin is applied to a substrate. The resulting coating is flexible, abrasion- and impact-resistant, and imparts a warm amber sheen reminiscent of natural balata. The technique takes its name from balata, the latex obtained from the Manilkara balata tree, historically used in protective coatings and as a golf-ball core material.
