BTSs

BTSs refers to the South Korean boy band BTS, also known as Bangtan Sonyeondan. The group was formed in Seoul in 2013 by Big Hit Entertainment (now HYBE) and debuted with the single No More Dream from the album 2 Cool 4 Skool. The seven members are RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. The name Bangtan Sonyeondan was originally translated as Bulletproof Boy Scouts and later repurposed to mean Beyond the Scene.

Musically, BTSs blends hip hop, pop, R&B, and EDM, with lyrics addressing personal and social topics such as identity, youth, mental health, and resilience. They gained international attention with The Most Beautiful Moment in Life series (2015–2016) and the Love Yourself albums (2017–2018), culminating in widely successful releases such as Map of the Soul: Persona (2019) and Map of the Soul: 7 (2020). The group also achieved major mainstream hits, including Dynamite (2020) and Butter (2021).

In addition to music, BTSs have influenced global pop culture through performances, fashion, and media presence. They established the Love Myself UNICEF campaign in partnership with the organization and have spoken at United Nations forums about youth empowerment. Their fandom, ARMY, is influential in streaming and charitable activities. The group is under HYBE and operates through its subsidiary labels under the BIGHIT MUSIC umbrella; members have also pursued solo projects and collaborations.

Notes: The term BTSs is not standard; the group is normally referred to as BTS. This article uses BTSs to discuss the band and related activities; for most purposes, BTS suffices as a singular group designation.
