JHope

Jung Ho-seok, known professionally as J-Hope, is a South Korean rapper, dancer, and singer. Born February 18, 1994, in Gwangju, he rose to fame as a member of the boy band BTS, formed by Big Hit Entertainment (now HYBE). Within BTS, J-Hope is recognized for his energetic dancing and rap, and he has contributed to songwriting and production across the group’s projects.

J-Hope debuted with BTS in 2013 with the single No More Dream from the debut album 2 Cool 4 Skool. He has since been a core performer in BTS’s live shows, noted for his dynamic stage presence, rapid rap flows, and versatile choreography. He has also pursued solo collaborations and soundtrack work, while continuing to participate in BTS’s group activities.

In 2018, J-Hope released Hope World, his first solo mixtape. The project reached the Billboard 200, peaking at number 38 in the United States, and helped expand his international profile with a global fanbase and a corresponding solo tour.

In July 2022, J-Hope released his first full-length solo studio album, Jack In The Box, led by the single MORE. The album explored themes of self-identity and personal growth and showcased a broader musical range, incorporating hip-hop, funk, and pop influences. He has continued to perform and collaborate on projects outside BTS while remaining an active member of the group.

J-Hope’s work is notable for bridging Korean and international audiences. He has also participated in BTS’s philanthropic initiatives, including the Love Myself campaign with UNICEF, reflecting the group’s broader social outreach alongside musical activities.
