BREEAMSE
BREEAMSE is a sustainability assessment method designed to evaluate the environmental performance of buildings and infrastructure projects in Spain. Developed as a localized adaptation of the internationally recognized Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM), BREEAMSE aligns with Spanish regulations, climate conditions, and market priorities. It provides a structured framework for assessing sustainability across various stages of a project’s lifecycle, from design and construction to operation and demolition.
The methodology covers key sustainability criteria such as energy efficiency, water use, materials, indoor environmental quality,
Certification through BREEAMSE is voluntary but increasingly valued by developers, investors, and policymakers as a tool
BREEAMSE is administered by the *Instituto de Certificación de la Edificación Sostenible* (ICES), a Spanish organization
