BNL

BNL, or Brookhaven National Laboratory, is a United States Department of Energy national laboratory located in Upton, New York, on Long Island. Established in 1947, it conducts basic and applied research across a broad range of fields, including physics, chemistry, biology, environmental science, and materials and energy science. The lab's mission includes advancing fundamental knowledge, supporting national energy and security priorities, and promoting regional economic development. It is managed by Brookhaven Science Associates, a partnership between Stony Brook University and Battelle Memorial Institute.

Research facilities at Brookhaven include the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC), a collider used to study

Brookhaven's scientific program has contributed to the study of quantum chromodynamics, the properties of the quark-gluon
