BMBF

BMBF, short for Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung, is a federal ministry of the German government responsible for national policy in education and research. It develops framework conditions for the German education system, funds higher education and research, and promotes innovation and scientific progress. The ministry works with the Länder (federal states) on education policy, while many matters of school policy remain with the states; the BMBF focuses on nationwide strategies, funding, and international cooperation.
