BCCrakenteessa is a Finnish term that translates to "in the BCC structure" in English. BCC refers to the body-centered cubic crystal structure, a common arrangement of atoms in metals and alloys. In this structure, atoms are located at each corner of a cube and one atom is situated at the very center of the cube. This arrangement leads to specific physical properties such as high density and strength.

Materials exhibiting the BCC structure include many common elements like iron (in its alpha and delta phases), chromium, tungsten, and molybdenum. The BCC structure is characterized by a coordination number of eight, meaning each atom has eight nearest neighbors. The atomic packing factor for a BCC structure is approximately 0.68, indicating that 68% of the volume of the unit cell is occupied by atoms.

The BCC structure is often associated with ductile behavior at room temperature, although its ductility can decrease significantly at lower temperatures. This transition from ductile to brittle behavior is known as the ductile-to-brittle transition temperature (DBTT).
