Aspie
Aspie is a colloquial term derived from Asperger syndrome. Asperger syndrome was a diagnostic category within the autistic spectrum that was removed in the 2013 revision of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5). Individuals who identify with the term "Aspie" often do so to indicate they are on the autism spectrum but do not necessarily experience the intellectual disability or significant language delays sometimes associated with other parts of the spectrum. The term is used by some autistic individuals to embrace their neurotype and community.
