Armatury

Armatury is a broad term used in Polish and Czech to describe devices and fittings used in piping systems to connect, regulate, and control the flow of liquids and gases. They are essential components of domestic plumbing, heating, gas distribution, and industrial piping, enabling safe operation, distribution, and maintenance of fluid systems.

The main groups of armatury include valves (such as ball, globe, gate, check, and safety valves) that start, stop, or regulate flow; fittings (elbows, tees, couplings, unions, adapters) that join and route pipes; taps and fixtures (faucets, shower heads, spouts) for consumer use; regulators and meters for pressure control and measurement; strainers and filters to remove debris; hoses, couplings, and quick-connects for flexible connections; and manifolds that distribute fluid to multiple circuits.

Materials used for armatury vary with application and fluid type. Common materials include brass and bronze for valves and fixtures, stainless steel for corrosion resistance and hygiene, copper for piping and connectors, and plastics (PVC, CPVC, PEX) for lightweight or economical installations. Components that contact potable water typically require materials and finishes approved for drinking water.

Standards and quality: Armatury products are manufactured to national and international standards and tested for pressure, leakage, and durability. Standards govern dimensions, thread types, connection methods, and safety requirements, and installations often must comply with local plumbing codes and building regulations.

Maintenance and safety: Regular inspection for leaks, corrosion, and wear is advised. Proper installation, correct material selection, and periodic replacement of worn components help ensure reliable performance and safety.
