Arcadeemulointi, or arcade emulation, refers to the process of recreating the functionality of arcade game hardware on a different platform, typically a personal computer or a modern gaming console. This is achieved through software known as an emulator. Emulators work by simulating the behavior of the original arcade machine's central processing unit (CPU), graphics processing unit (GPU), sound hardware, and input systems.
