Apocalyptica
Apocalyptica is a Finnish musical group formed in Helsinki in 1993. The project began as an instrumental ensemble of four cellists who explored heavy metal sounds on cellos, blending classical technique with distorted riffs and percussion. They gained international attention with their debut album, Plays Metallica by Four Cellos (1996), a collection of Metallica songs arranged for four cellos that helped popularize cello-driven metal.
