Antioxidanty
Antioxidanty, or antioxidants, are molecules that slow or prevent oxidation, a chemical process that can generate free radicals and damage cells. By donating electrons or hydrogen atoms, they neutralize reactive species and help protect lipids, proteins, and DNA from oxidative injury.
The body produces some antioxidants endogenously through enzymes such as superoxide dismutase, catalase, and glutathione peroxidase.
Oxidative stress arises when free radicals exceed the body's antioxidant defenses and is linked to aging and

Antioxidant capacity is measured in laboratory tests, but such assays do not directly translate to health effects.
