Anesthesierisicos is not a standard term in formal medical nomenclature, but it is sometimes used informally to refer to the risks associated with anesthesia. The concept encompasses potential adverse events that may occur before, during, or after anesthesia and that influence patient safety, outcomes, and informed consent.

Risk factors for anesthesierisicos are broad and include patient-related factors (age, obesity, cardiopulmonary disease, frailty, pregnancy), procedure-related factors (type of surgery, duration, urgent versus elective), and anesthesia technique (general, regional, or local with sedation). Drug-related factors such as allergic reactions, drug interactions, hemodynamic instability, respiratory depression, or rare conditions like malignant hyperthermia also contribute. Environmental and organizational factors, including staffing levels and equipment readiness, can affect the likelihood and severity of complications.

Common mild effects include nausea, vomiting, sore throat, and temporary grogginess. More serious risks, though less frequent, include bronchospasm, cardiac events, severe hypotension, airway complications, anaphylaxis, or perioperative stroke. The overall risk profile is assessed preoperatively to guide planning and consent. Preoperative assessment uses tools such as the ASA physical status classification to estimate risk, plus condition-specific checks like STOP-BANG for sleep apnea or Mallampati scoring for airway assessment. Management aims to minimize anesthesierisicos through optimization of comorbidities, careful selection of anesthesia technique, perioperative monitoring, and evidence-based protocols for airway management, fluid therapy, and pain control.

Postoperative care addresses residual effects and complications through monitoring, pain management, antiemetic strategies, and early mobilization.
