Amtsgericht
Amtsgericht, often translated as district or local court, is a court of first instance in the German ordinary judiciary. It operates at the district level and is the lowest tier in the hierarchy of state courts. Amtsgerichte exist in many towns and districts across Germany and handle a broad range of civil, criminal, and administrative matters that fall within their jurisdiction.
