Aktuaattoria is the Finnish term for an actuator, a device that converts energy into mechanical motion to move or control a mechanism or system. Hydraulic and pneumatic actuators are controlled by valves that regulate fluid flow; response depends on pressure, leakage, and load. Performance metrics include force/torque, displacement, speed, efficiency, repeatability, and bandwidth. Design also considers safety, overload protection, and operating temperature.
