Aktivpunkt

Aktivpunkt is a term derived from German, literally translating to "active point." It is most commonly encountered in the context of acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine. In this system, aktivpunkts are specific locations on the body that are believed to be points of high energy concentration, known as acupoints or acupuncture points. These points are thought to be connected to various organs and bodily functions via a network of pathways called meridians. Stimulating these aktivpunkts, typically through acupuncture needles, acupressure, or moxibustion, is believed to influence the flow of vital energy, or Qi, thereby restoring balance and promoting healing. While the concept of aktivpunkts is central to traditional Chinese medicine, scientific evidence supporting its efficacy and the underlying physiological mechanisms remains a subject of ongoing research and debate within Western medicine. The term itself is less frequently used in English-language literature compared to "acupoint."
