Adrett
Adrett is a geographic term that is most often encountered as a variant spelling of adret. In standard usage, adret denotes the sun-facing slope of a mountain or hill, especially in Alpine and Pyrenean contexts. This side typically receives more direct sunlight, resulting in warmer temperatures and different moisture patterns compared with the opposite, shaded slope known as the ubac. While adret is the preferred spelling in contemporary reference works, adrett appears in some regional texts, older maps, or nonstandard writings.
