AMmodulatsiooniga refers to Amplitude Modulation, a technique used in telecommunications to transmit information over a radio carrier wave. In AM, the amplitude of the carrier wave is varied in proportion to the information signal. This means that the strength of the radio signal fluctuates according to the sound or data being transmitted. The basic principle involves a carrier wave, which is a high-frequency signal with a constant amplitude and frequency, and a message signal, which is the information we want to send, such as audio.

When AMmodulatsiooniga is applied, the message signal is superimposed onto the carrier wave. This is typically achieved by multiplying the carrier wave with a signal that represents the message. The resulting modulated signal has a constant frequency but its amplitude changes over time, mirroring the shape of the original message signal. The extent of these amplitude variations is determined by the modulation index, which controls the strength of the message signal relative to the carrier.

AMmodulatsiooniga is one of the simplest forms of modulation and was historically important for early radio broadcasting.
