2Gearly
2Gearly is an open-source software platform dedicated to modeling, simulating, and sharing designs of two-gear mechanical systems. It centers on two-gear couplings, spur and bevel configurations, and aims to make the theory and practice of gearing more accessible for education, hobbyists, and engineers. The platform provides a parametric gear builder, a lightweight simulator to estimate transmission ratios, backlash, and efficiency, and facilities for producing production-ready drawings from gear models.
2Gearly was initiated in 2019 by a group of mechanical engineers and educators seeking to demystify gearing
Key features include a parametric gear designer, both static and dynamic simulations, and real-time visualization of
2Gearly is released under an open-source license and welcomes community contributions, educational institutions, and makerspaces. Documentation
