Érintőképernyő, often referred to as a touchscreen, is a type of display screen that allows users to interact with a device by touching the screen directly with their fingers or a stylus. This technology has become ubiquitous in modern electronic devices, from smartphones and tablets to laptops and kiosks.

There are several primary types of touchscreens. Resistive touchscreens work by registering the pressure of a touch, which causes two conductive layers within the screen to make contact, completing a circuit and registering the touch location. This technology is durable but can be less sensitive and may require a firmer press. Capacitive touchscreens, on the other hand, detect the touch by sensing the change in electrical capacitance caused by the human body's conductivity. They are more sensitive and responsive, allowing for multi-touch gestures like pinch-to-zoom, and are commonly found in most consumer electronics today. Infrared touchscreens use a grid of infrared beams and receivers. When an object interrupts these beams, the location of the interruption is registered as a touch.

The development of the touchscreen has revolutionized human-computer interaction, making devices more intuitive and accessible. Its widespread adoption has led to the creation of new user interfaces and application designs that leverage the direct manipulation capabilities of touch input.
