üzenetintegritást refers to the assurance that a message or data has not been altered or corrupted during transmission or storage. It is a fundamental security principle in computer science and communication systems, ensuring that the information received is exactly the same as the information that was sent. This integrity is crucial for maintaining the trustworthiness of data, especially in sensitive applications like financial transactions, secure communications, and software updates.

There are several methods used to achieve üzenetintegritást. A common technique involves the use of cryptographic hash functions. These functions take an input message and produce a fixed-size string of characters, known as a hash or message digest. Any change to the original message, no matter how small, will result in a completely different hash value. By comparing the hash of the received message with a known, original hash, one can detect if any tampering has occurred.

Another approach is the use of message authentication codes (MACs) or keyed-hash message authentication codes (HMACs). These methods not only verify the integrity of the message but also authenticate the sender. A MAC is generated using a secret key shared between the sender and receiver. This adds an extra layer of security, ensuring that the message originates from a trusted source and has not been modified. Digital signatures, which utilize public-key cryptography, also provide message integrity, along with non-repudiation, meaning the sender cannot deny having sent the message.
