Örümcek

Örümcek is the Turkish word for spider. Spiders are arachnids belonging to the order Araneae. They are characterized by having eight legs, two body segments (cephalothorax and abdomen), and the ability to produce silk. Spiders are found in almost every habitat on Earth, from deserts and rainforests to caves and mountains.

There are over 48,000 known species of spiders worldwide, with new ones still being discovered. Their sizes vary dramatically, from tiny species less than a millimeter long to the giant huntsman spider, which can have a leg span of up to 30 centimeters. Spiders play a crucial role in ecosystems as predators, controlling populations of insects and other small invertebrates. Their silk is also incredibly versatile, used for building webs, creating egg sacs, and even as a dragline for safety.

Most spiders are not harmful to humans, and many species are beneficial due to their insectivorous diets. However, a small number of species possess venom potent enough to cause medical issues if they bite. These medically significant spiders are relatively rare and often live in specific geographic regions. The study of spiders is called arachnology.
