Árnarfjørður
Árnarfjørður is a fjord located in the eastern part of the Faroe Islands, an autonomous territory of Denmark. It is situated between the islands of Eysturoy and Streymoy, though it is geographically distinct from the larger fjords of the same name found elsewhere in the Faroes. The Árnarfjørður in the east is a relatively narrow inlet characterized by steep, green hillsides that descend sharply to the water's edge.
The fjord is sparsely populated, with only a few small villages and scattered farms along its shores.
The name Árnarfjørður translates to "Eagle Fjord," suggesting the historical presence of eagles in the area.
