Zasuwkowe refers to locking mechanisms and hardware that use a sliding bolt (zasuwka) to secure a door, gate, cabinet, or window. The term describes both the device itself and a class of simple, bolt-based locking systems commonly found in traditional and rural architecture as well as in certain modern fixtures.

A typical zasuwkowy mechanism consists of a metal bolt that moves along a guide or channel, a housing or strike plate, and a manual actuator such as a handle, knob, or lever. In some variants, a key or cam can operate the bolt. The assembly may be surface-mounted on the door edge or mortised into the door or frame, and bolts are often made of steel with various finishes to resist corrosion.

There are several variations, including single-bolt and double-bolt configurations, different bolt lengths, and different mounting styles. Zasuwki are used on interior and exterior doors, garden gates, and cabinets. Limitations include lower resistance to forced entry compared with more advanced locking systems and potential misalignment or weather-related sticking in outdoor settings. The term derives from zasuwa, meaning to slide a bolt, with zasuwka meaning the bolt or latch itself.
