verktygsprogram

Verktygsprogram, in Swedish manufacturing terminology, denotes a collection of tool definitions and configurations used for production equipment, primarily CNC machines. It is typically stored in a tool library or tool data management system and serves as the authoritative source for all cutting tools and related components used in a production run. A verktygsprogram records each tool's identity and geometry: type (end mill, drill, tap), diameter, length, flute count, shank size; cutting geometry such as helix angle, flute type, corner radius; material and coating; tool holder or collet; and maintenance data such as wear, life used, regrind cycles. It includes offset and calibration data, such as tool length offsets (G43) and centerline references, and may store recommended cutting conditions (speeds and feeds) associated with each tool or tool group.

The purpose is to enable consistent tool usage across machines and programs, and to support automatic tool

In software contexts, the term can also refer to a bundle of utilities within a larger system,
