Verkkoväylä, often translated as network bus or communication bus in English, refers to a shared communication pathway used in computer systems and networking for transmitting data between different components. In its simplest form, a verkkoväylä allows multiple devices to connect and exchange information over a single set of wires or optical fibers. This architecture is common in older computer systems and industrial control systems.

The fundamental principle of a verkkoväylä is that all connected devices listen to the data transmitted on the bus.
