verifikaci

Verifikace, or its inflected form verifikaci, is the process of establishing the truth, accuracy, or validity of something. In Czech, verifikace is the noun for verification, while verifikaci is the accusative singular form used after verbs that require a direct object, for example: "provést verifikaci údajů" (to perform data verification). The related verb is verifikovat, and the adjective verifikovaný. The concept corresponds to verification in English and is used across many domains, with a nuance that verifikace stresses checking against defined criteria or standards, whereas ověřování is often used for authentication or identity checks.

Verifikace is commonly applied in areas such as identity verification in digital services, banking, and e-government; data verification for information systems, statistics, and research; the verification step in software engineering and product development (often paired with validace as part of verifikace a validace, or V&V); and journalism or public discourse, where facts and sources are verified (fact-checking).

Typical methods include manual review, automated checks and rules, data reconciliation, cryptographic proofs, and digital signatures, as well as third-party audits. In regulatory and quality contexts, verifikace appears in standards and compliance procedures to demonstrate that processes and outputs meet requirements.
