The primary advantage of valmisvärjäys is the ability to achieve a wider range of colors and more intricate patterns, especially with yarn dyeing. In yarn dyeing, individual strands of yarn are colored before they are woven or knitted. This allows for complex patterns like plaids, stripes, and checks to be created with great precision. Fabric dyeing, also a form of valmisvärjäys, involves dyeing rolls of fabric.
