Valleizones is a framework in physical geography and land management for describing subregions within a valley, defined by environmental characteristics and land use. The term combines valley geometry with zone-based classification and is used to inform planning, conservation, and research. Valleizones are delineated by elevation, slope and aspect, proximity to water, soil moisture, vegetation, and historical land use. Boundaries are often gradual, with transitional areas between zones.

Typical valleizones include: the lower valley zone, on the floodplain and terraces, with high soil moisture, flood risk, and intensive agriculture or riparian habitats; the middle valley zone, at mid-elevation with moderate moisture, diversified agriculture and forests; and the upper valley zone, at higher elevations or on steeper terrain, where forests or scrub dominate and human activity is limited. Microclimates within valleizones can vary due to exposure, drainage, and water availability, affecting species and frost risk.

Applications include land-use planning, irrigation and drainage design, habitat restoration, and climate adaptation. Valleizones support standardized comparisons across valleys, aid hydrological modelling, ecological assessments, and stakeholder decision-making. They are most effective when calibrated with local data, including soils, topography, vegetation surveys, and historical land use.
