Vakionopeudensäätimet, or cruise control systems, are devices that automatically maintain a vehicle's speed set by the driver. These systems are designed to reduce driver fatigue during long journeys by eliminating the need to constantly adjust the accelerator pedal. A typical cruise control system utilizes a sensor to monitor the vehicle's speed. When the driver sets a desired speed, the system engages a controller that adjusts the engine's throttle to maintain that speed, even when encountering inclines or declines. The system can be disengaged by the driver through braking, accelerating, or a dedicated cancel button.
Modern vehicles often feature adaptive cruise control (ACC). ACC systems go beyond simply maintaining a set
