Värviprofiili, also known as color profile, is a set of data that characterizes the color reproduction capabilities of a device, such as a monitor, printer, or scanner. For example, when you send an image to a printer, the color profile of your monitor and the printer are used to convert the colors in the image so that they appear as intended on the printed output.

Color profiles are typically created using specialized calibration hardware and software. Calibration devices, like colorimeters or spectrophotometers, measure the colors displayed by a device. This measured data is then used to generate an ICC profile that accurately describes the device's behavior. Proper color management, which involves using and applying color profiles, is essential for professionals in fields like graphic design, photography, and printing to achieve predictable and accurate color results.
