uívaly is a lesser-known traditional musical instrument originating from the indigenous communities of the Amazon rainforest, particularly among the Yanomami and Yanomamö peoples. The name uívaly is derived from the Yanomami language, where uí means "wind" and valy refers to the instrument’s hollow, resonant construction. It is a type of aerophone, specifically a free-reed instrument, similar to the Western concertina or the Brazilian gaita-de-bico.
The instrument is typically crafted from a single piece of bamboo, split lengthwise and then hollowed out.
