Underprodusert is a term used in production and operations management to describe a situation where the actual output is lower than what was planned, forecasted, or required to meet demand. The shortfall is typically measured by comparing planned output to realized output over a given period. The underproduksjon can be expressed as a quantity (planned minus actual) or as a percentage of planned production. Production dashboards and capacity planning tools commonly monitor underproduksjon to identify where output is not meeting targets.

Common causes include capacity constraints (machine downtime, maintenance, staffing limits), material or supplier delays, quality issues and rework, inefficiencies in scheduling, depletion of safety stock, design changes, and inaccuracies in demand forecasting.
