Ultrasonikaatorit, also known as ultrasonic cleaners, are devices that use high-frequency sound waves to agitate a cleaning fluid. This process, known as ultrasonication, creates microscopic bubbles that rapidly expand and collapse, a phenomenon called cavitation. The implosion of these bubbles generates powerful, yet localized, cleaning forces that can dislodge contaminants from surfaces.

Ultrasonikaatorit consist of a tank filled with a cleaning solution, and a transducer, typically a piezoelectric device, that converts electrical energy into mechanical vibrations at ultrasonic frequencies, usually between 20 kHz and 400 kHz. These vibrations are transmitted to the cleaning fluid, creating the cavitation effect.
