In a biological context, it commonly describes a muscle or tendon being stretched to a point where its fibers are strained or torn. This can lead to pain, inflammation, and reduced function. The severity of a túznyújtás ranges from a mild strain, where a few fibers are affected, to a complete rupture, where the tissue is severed. Causes include sudden movements, overuse, inadequate warm-up before physical activity, and poor flexibility. Treatment typically involves rest, ice, compression, and elevation (RICE), followed by rehabilitation exercises to restore strength and flexibility.
