Työvaiheelle is a Finnish term that literally translates to “for the work phase” or “to the work phase.” It is used in industrial engineering, manufacturing, and project management contexts to refer to the specific stage in a production or development process where the core work activity is carried out. The word is often found in technical documentation, quality control procedures, and workflow charts in Finnish-speaking organisations.

In practice, a work phase (työvaihe) is a discrete segment of a larger process, defined by its start and finish points, the tasks involved, and the resources required. Työvaiheelle therefore signals the assignment of responsibility, resources, or measurement to that particular phase. For example, a machining operation may be broken into several phases: preparation, cutting, finishing, and inspection.
