Alcohol-based inks are known for their vibrant colors, smooth blending capabilities, and permanence, making them popular among artists and illustrators. Permanent markers, often using solvent-based inks, are designed to write on a variety of surfaces and resist fading or washing off. Speciality markers exist for specific tasks, such as fabric markers, whiteboard markers that can be easily erased, and permanent industrial markers. The development of different ink formulations and nib materials continues to expand the capabilities and applications of these versatile writing tools.
