Turvasanka is a Finnish term used in locksmithing and security contexts to refer to the shackle or locking bar of a padlock, bike lock, chain lock, or similar securing device. The word combines turva (safety or security) with sanka (shackle or bolt). It is a generic component rather than a specific product or brand name.

A turvasanka is the part that moves into the body of the lock to secure the device when locked and to release it when unlocked. It is typically made of hardened steel and may feature case hardening, coatings for corrosion resistance, or reinforced designs. Some models employ double-locking mechanisms or additional protective features to prevent tampering.

Forms and applications vary: U-shaped shackles, straight shackles, and curved shackles are common geometries.
