Turvallisuus is a Finnish term covering safety and security. In everyday use, turvallisuus encompasses both preventing accidents and deterring deliberate harm, with a focus on people, property, and environments. The concept often distinguishes from turvallisuuspolitik ka (security policy) and riskienhallinta (risk management); turvallisuus is the outcome, whereas risk management describes the processes used to achieve it.

Approach to turvallisuus generally involves risk assessment, hazard identification, preventive measures, training, incident reporting, emergency planning, and continuity planning.
