Turgorissa is a term used in speculative biology and in educational simulations to describe a hypothetical genus of freshwater microalgae. It is not recognized as a formally described taxon in major taxonomic databases such as NCBI Taxonomy or AlgaeBase, and there is no consensus on an official species or family.

In these model contexts, turgorissa is depicted as a small, unicellular or colonial alga with a flexible cell wall. The central feature emphasized is turgor pressure: the force exerted by stored water within the cell against the wall, which governs cell size, shape, and movement. Descriptions often illustrate how water uptake increases turgor, causing expansion, while water loss or osmotic stress reduces turgor and can lead to wilting or plasmolysis. Reproduction in such models is typically shown as simple, asexual division, though some versions explore hypothetical life cycles.
