Tundralardan is a term that refers to the plural form of tundra. Tundra is a biome characterized by permafrost, low temperatures, limited precipitation, and short growing seasons. These conditions result in a landscape dominated by low-growing vegetation such as mosses, lichens, grasses, sedges, and dwarf shrubs. Trees are generally absent, except for some stunted willows and birches in sheltered areas.

There are two main types of tundra: Arctic tundra and Alpine tundra. Arctic tundra is found in the high latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere, surrounding the North Pole. It experiences long, cold winters and short, cool summers. Alpine tundra is found at high elevations on mountains worldwide, above the treeline. It shares many characteristics with Arctic tundra but is not defined by permafrost in the same way, though the ground can freeze seasonally.

The animal life in tundra regions is adapted to the harsh conditions. Common inhabitants include reindeer (caribou), musk oxen, Arctic foxes, wolves, lemmings, and various bird species, particularly during the summer breeding season. Many animals have thick fur or feathers for insulation and may migrate or hibernate during the winter. The tundra ecosystem is fragile and slow to recover from disturbance due to the slow decomposition rates and short growing periods. Human activities, such as resource extraction and climate change, pose significant threats to these unique environments.
